On Saturday, March 8th, we were thrilled to participate in the 2025 Spring Festival at Endeavour Elementary School, organized by Church at Viera on the school campus. Local businesses and organizations joined forces with school staff to provide a fun-filled afternoon for students and their families. We handed out Thrifty reusable bags with fresh fruit and location info, gave away promotional items through our “Spin the Wheel” game, and held hourly gift certificate raffles. Thank you, Endeavour Elementary, for allowing us to be part of this wonderful event!

On Friday, March 7th, together with our partners at WellCare, we hosted a special event to thank our customers for their continued loyalty and support. It was a joyful celebration filled with fun, helpful information, giveaways, and of course, the delicious flavors of our food that everyone enjoyed.atmosphere.

We proudly held the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Cocina Café location at the Melbourne Square Mall food court, with the support of the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. The event was attended by distinguished guests from our community and Chamber ambassadors, who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone and enjoy a delightful sampling of our signature flavors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

On Saturday, January 25th, we had the pleasure of participating in the traditional Multicultural Fest organized by the City of Palm Bay. This vibrant event featured artistic groups from various countries showcasing traditional music and dance in a joyful celebration of community and cultural diversity. Attendees also enjoyed tastings of international cuisine. Thrifty Specialty Produce & Meats and Cocina Café once again delighted visitors with flavorful food samples, branded souvenirs, and exciting gift certificate giveaways throughout the day.

On Wednesday, February 5th, we had the pleasure of attending the monthly luncheon hosted by the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, featuring a special guest speaker, Terry Jordan, Director of Space Coast Area Transit. During the luncheon, the Chamber warmly welcomed its new members—including Cocina Café's new location at Melbourne Square Mall. The Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was also announced, with an open invitation extended to all attendees to come visit and celebrate this exciting new addition to the community.

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, the Viva Brevard Fest, originally scheduled for October 2024, was successfully held after being postponed due to inclement weather. Thrifty Specialty Produce & Meats and Cocina Café were proud sponsors of this vibrant community event, which celebrated Hispanic culture through traditional music, food, dance, and heritage.

On Wednesday, January 8th, we had the pleasure of attending the first monthly luncheon of 2025 hosted by the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. The event featured a special appearance by Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, who shared insights into the impactful programs implemented by his department across the county. Sheriff Ivey also highlighted key accomplishments and offered a glimpse into exciting new projects on the horizon.

On Saturday, December 21, 2024, one of Brevard County’s largest community festivals took place—Christmas Extravaganza, organized by The House Church in Palm Bay. We were proud to be part of this wonderful event, joining some of our vendors to bring excitement and festive spirit to this special celebration for our community.

We celebrated the grand opening of Cocina Café’s new location at the Melbourne Square Mall food court on the second weekend of December 2024. The event featured special guest appearances from our friends at iHeartRadio: DJ Franchy from Rumba 100.3 FM on Saturday, December 14, and Mindy from Lite Rock 99.3 FM on Sunday, December 15. Attendees were delighted to welcome Cocina Café to the mall, and we couldn't be more excited to serve this wonderful community!

On December 6, 2024, special recognition plaques were presented to Loris Guerrero, Office Manager of Thrifty Palm Bay and Cocina Café locations, as well as to Pabel Soto, Manager and Partner of Cocina Café Restaurant. They were selected as Grand Marshals of the annual Palm Bay City Christmas Parade, held on Saturday, December 7, where we proudly participated with our festive floats.

On December 4, 2024, we had the honor of attending the swearing-in ceremony for the new Board of Directors of the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce. As proud members of the Chamber, we were thrilled to witness this important moment and celebrate the leadership that will continue driving business growth and community success. We look forward to contributing and supporting the Chamber’s initiatives in the coming year!

Throughout the month of November, we collected toy donations at Thrifty Palm Bay and Rockledge locations, as well as at Cocina Café on Malabar Rd in Palm Bay. These donations were distributed during the "Reverse Christmas Parade" organized by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, which took place on Monday, December 2, 2024.

On November 9, we hosted the Customer Appreciation Event at Cocina Café, on Malabar Road, Palm Bay. During the activity we had music, prizes for our customers, face painting and balloon art for the children. Our allies from Florida Health Care Plans, an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, gave away gift certificates from Cocina Café and offering information about their medical insurance plans to senior citizens. It was a very nice event in which we thanked our customers for their preference.

We celebrated Cocina Café’s 1st anniversary with a Latin-Caribbean-themed event filled with joy, giveaways, and delicious food. Jenny Castillo and Rumba 100.3 FM’s promotions team made the celebration extra special, alongside friends, family, and Palm Bay officials, as we thanked our loyal customers.

Hosted by the Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce, the 16th Annual Mayor’s Breakfast featured updates from all 16 Brevard County mayors on regional plans, with Sheriff Wayne Ivey as the master of ceremonies. Business leaders and government officials gathered to discuss the future of the county and strengthen community ties.
